Little People Commmunities in China: Good or bad?

So, I read a while back about this but the China censorship thread made me remember.
Apparently in China they have these little people communities where they live as a tourist attraction.
Everyone in the mountain commune in Kunming, southern China, must be under 4ft 3 ins tall and they run their own police force and fire brigade from their 120 residents.
Now the group has turned itself into a tourist attraction by building mushroom houses and living and dressing like fairy tale characters. -Telegraph News
Do you think this is exploitation or degrading? Or is it a good thing?
Personally I think it might be good for them. Its employment in China and it is a community so they won't get lonely. And their houses would be made specifically for them except in the shape of a mushroom. D:
Here in Canada we have communities like that except they have normal houses, and guards that chase away any normal people. There is one around the corner from my house....I wanna see. D:

Hey, if they want it and it's ok for them, it's nobody's place to say otherwise.
It's only exploitation if it's done forcefully, no?
I wouldn't say it's the most cosy job in the world, but I don't think it's degrading.
After all, it's their choice.
And I think it's nice.
I imagine it's much easier to live in a place which is especially adjusted for their height.
This place also provides employment and is guarded as I see.
Now compare it to the leper colonies...
Much better, wouldn't you say?
Personally, I don't see anything especially interesting in little people.
And unless it is a self proclaimed tourist attraction such as it is in this case,
I don't think people should be snooping around.
I have nothing further to add...
Hrodulf and Bjornolfr, you will not be forgotten.

If it's self segregation, then I see no problem with it. If they want to make some money on the fact that they are different then normal people, why not. It's weird and a little creepy but that's what they want to do.
However, if it is segregation by force or coercion and then to use it as a gimmick, then do not want.
