the last scene ruins the manga!!

Okay I know this series ended long ago and I also had read the scanlation but the last volume has only recently been published in my country and somehow reading it physically feels different. With the last scene it was as though the whole point of the manga is the romance between Tohru and Kyo when in fact (to me) Furuba is so much more than that. For me, this fact that romance suddenly upstaging all the other aspects kinda ruins the ending. What do you think?

well it really annoyed me how Machi just pops up in the end to be paired up with Yuki. I know Tohru was meant to be Kyo, and I'm fine with that, but really, the girl is just a bit of a '...huh? oh no are you serious?' for me.

I didn't like the very last scene either. Showing them as grandparents was a really stupid thing to do. Way too many steps beyond "and they live happily ever after." We all know every story's real ending, regardless of how the plot turns out, is "and they grew old and died." This is not something a competant author should shove into the viewers' face.

The first time I read the scanlations, i hated the ending....really hated it cus there were some lose strings left....but after I bought the physical book, it wasn't too bad...even though if she was going to do the very old they have grandkids ending, then I would have liked to see their old people's faces and maybe just maybe know if the theories roaming about that their kid married Yuki's kid was true since the little girl was carrying a rat and cat toy....
