The editors of Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Magazine have announced that Alive - Saishū Shinka teki Shōnen (Alive - The Final Evolution) manga writer Tadashi Kawashima passed away on Tuesday, June 15, due to liver cancer. He was 42.

The editors noted that Kawashima continued to work on the manga from his sickbed and managed to complete the manga this past February. Even after finishing Alive, he proceeded to work on a new series while he battled liver cancer. The editors offered their condolences on Kawashima's passing.

Manga I'm loving ATM: Heart no Kuni no Alice

Poor dude, respect for him to fight his disease and still finish the manga, compared to others coughHxHcough ...Hope he goes to heaven and gets 77 virgins...or dates...or virgin dates <.<

The reason they annulled the anime 11 days before his dead...kinda tells you why....you normally got the author with you on the anime production to guide you through the story and some specific scenes and details. Tadashi probably couldn't do that in his last days since it was too much and too exhausting for him to do it....

So.....is it only me or do mangaka die quite young? (Except the bad mangakas 😛 or the classic ones)
