It was the first sports anime that totally engrossed me and due to that I follow the manga faithfully.

Those of you that do not know who or what is Ippo, shame on you!; watch it and read it right away! The rest of you should understand and share my unbound joy...

Is it going to continue from Champions Road or is it going to be a remake type thing? I really hope it's the former since the Takamura VS Hawk would be astoundingly awesome! Not to mention seeing the jokes come to life!

well yeah, apparently it'll be starting off from the 1st ova chamipion road but it makes since.....because that fight of the anime was mashiba-kimura, and if remmeber correctly the next fight was takumara's, so Ippo was hardly in it since they were following takumara's life for that fight......and i guess they didn't want to start the anime with main character not in it

but shit......i dont care where they start off from, ippo's back!, cant wait to see those fights animated

The link says a new anime is coming but it doesn't say where it continues from. Although after Champion Road is indeed the logical place.

I can't wait to see the Takamura vs Hawk fight.

either way, after champion road is a good way to start from. The matches that takes place after that are more awesome anyway. I can't wait to see Aoki's championship match, that'll rip me a new a-hole from laughing!

**According to Weekly Shounen Magazine, a new TV anime series of Hajime no Ippo was announced. It will start airing in January 2009.
The first series was aired from 2000 to 2002 and established a record high average rating as an "after-midnight" anime.
