Arrietty. I thought my local cinema (in the UK) wasn't going to show it so when I saw they were I got quite excited, but ultimately I was pretty disappointed, tbh... It has a 100% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes but for me it is no way near as good as most Ghibli movies. I'm not really sure why, it just didn't feel very magical to me and I was disappointed with the story and the character development. Also my local cinema showed the English dub when I went (not sure they showed it in Japanese with subs at all). I was hopeful when I saw the cast for the British dub but I was pretty disappointed and I'd much rather have seen it subbed.

Aside from my complaints though, the music by Cécile Corbel is great and they fit it into certain points in the film perfectly. I can't seem to find anywhere to buy the English version though, only the Japanese, and ideally I'd like both ;_; Anyway, the film wasn't awful and I am kind of hoping they make a sequel because Spiller was the most interesting character to me but he barely got any screentime.

Cécile Corbel from Breizh <3

The last I've seen is Lord of The Ring I for the xxxxth time !! And I didn't even have time to see the end. I read too many mangas xD (and I try to have a bit of social life as well)

I watched the movie with english subs and found it ok. It wasn't as good as Spirited Away, but I agree about the wonderful music score. smile

Just saw Gamer and it's like most people said: It's just a poor man's version of The Running Man.

Sword of the stranger
I liked it more than it deserves i think
I like when animals are part of the story in more ways than to simply die and get us to feel something
but if not for the Dog in this case
i would probably never watch this movie again

the story is so silly and far out there that i wonder how someone actually came up with it
i mean most of what goes on in this movie take place in "reality" then we have a giant wood construction made for the purpose of sacrificing a small child so that the chinese emperor can live forever WTF it seems so out of place and weird
and we have a very long scene that take place in a hotspring where one of the main characters is shown to have red hair...that he dye black...why did the movie care to explain this to us
it serve no purpose whatsoever that he is or is not a redhead

it kind of feels like they had 2-3 scripts going
and then time was running out so they put shit in from all of them into one weird movie

tl;dr
sword of the stranger
dont watch it unless you like dogs
