Quote from Highway-STAR

Watched The Grey today. Really gripping story about a bunch of oil workers who have to survive extreme weather conditions and a lurking pack of wolves after their plane crashes.

A very overwhelming and brutal tale of survival and the human condition. Nearly had me crying for the first time in years, any film that gets that kind of emotional response out of me deserves every bit of my respect! And my hat goes off to the cast who were very believable.

I've heard good things about The Grey, and if your taste in manga is anything to go by, I should really put this on my must-watch list.

Caught TT3D: Closer to the Edge on Blu-Ray a couple of days ago. Been on my "to watch" list for a while, but never came to theaters over here, sadly. As a bike-nut and a huge fan of the TT in general, my opinion's probably biased, but judging from the reactions of the person I watched it with, I believe anyone can enjoy this film-documentary, since it focuses more on the human side of things.

Cinematography was top-notch for the most part (some bits in the middle were a bit gimmicky, though), the setting vivid, and it has a "lead" character that even Hollywood couldn't dream of, complete with mutton-chop sideburns and thick Lancashire accent!! He makes Wolverine seem like a docile puppy by comparison.

There've been a lot of motorsport related films/documentaries/biopics out recently, but Closer to the Edge is the best I've seen in recent memory (yes, better than BAFTA winning Senna as well). Already had plans to attend this year's TT even before I heard of this film, but now the bug's itching even more.

TT3D: Closer to the Edge

Sounds interesting, the poster caught my eye a while back. I'll have to check it out...

Watched John Woo's The Killer a few nights ago, not as good as Hard Boiled but still a better action film than most Hollywood blockbusters, and it was just so damn well paced. And I'm a sucker for camraderie and duking it out 'til the very end... 😀

sleeping beauty(2011)
it was bizarre...literally...
and i never ever thought emily would go for such a daring movie(it had too many nude scenes and nude people feeling her up :l )
but i kind of enjoyed it, took me a while to understand what happened at the end though

Because literally is a term used for emphasis, not to usher what could be a misconstrued as a statement of metaphor into the realm of reality.

I watched Aoyama Shinji's newest film (Tokyo Kouen) last night. Wasn't bad. It doesn't compare to Eureka or Sad Vacation or even Tsuki no Sabaku, but it was very watchable.

NightSwan also said that she wanted to peg me, once, but I'm not sure whether to take that as a compliment or a threat...

Resident Evil: Afterlife
and
Resident Evil: Degeneration

Because of these, I'm really stoked for RE: Retribution.

Hugo with my friend at her house, it came highly praised by my English teacher. I can see why he liked it but it wasn't completely oscar worthy in the story-telling department imho. But alas, I don't have a degree for that anyway. I burst out laughing when I realized Borat was in it.

Typically shun any crap from Hollywood, so I'd have to say... Rent. Again.
