A nonsensically high amount of good films stated to come out since about 2 months ago, which is great. A Star is Born, BlacKkKlansman, Mission: Impossible - Fallout (the best one yet) ,Searching (Hollywood nailed computer tech, woah) and The Night Comes for Us (basically The Raid 3 and somehow even more violent) were the best so far.
On to comic corner:

Constantine: City of Demons got compiled into a film and is THE hard-R adaptation fans have been waiting for since the late 80s. Venom was a mess and a half but weirdly comic accurate, despite going widely off canon. Watch it for Tom Hardy´s it-has-to-be-seen-to-be-believed performance that single-handedly carries the film.

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is another CW style teen drama thingy, so I stopped after the pilot. The sadly quickly canceled source comic was way more interesting.
Cloak & Dagger totally burned out by the end of S01. I am done.
Iron Fist S02 was mostly a shit show and deserved to be canned. That is coming from someone who ultimately liked S01. A shame about Luke Cage also being canceled.
Both of them and the destined to be canceled with S03 Jessica should join shows as the Heroes for Hire. Unless Marvel @ Netflix is done for good due to the Fox merger in 2019.
Daredevil, on the other hand, had another tour de force season. I again saw it in one sitting. Many more seasons for him and the Punisher, please. And a Moon Knight show, if possible.

DC Universe lastly started very strong with Titans. I wonder if it was intended to be a spin-off from the dearly departed Synder-verse? Starfire, now a female Shaft (!), burned sex traffickers to death, Raven is Linda Blair stand-in, a totally unhinged Robin served a criminal´s penis with gardening shears and Hawk & Dove might as well be Nite Owl and Silk Specter. Geoff Johns worked on both the DCEU and now these shows and you can tell.
Next week will introduce the spin-off Doom Patrol and Swamp Thing is less than a year away. 2 Thumbs Up.

Lately i've been watching World War II movies BUT not about holocaust (actually there are too many movies about that topic), i'm more interested what happened on the other side... the side that lost the war.

The Misfit Brigade (1987): Action, Adventure, Drama, War; movie made after the novel "Wheels of Terror" by Sven Hassel.
Suite Française (2014): Drama, Romance, War
The Silence of the Sea (2004) Le silence de la mer (original title): Drama, Romance, War
The Book Thief (2013): Drama, War
The Exception (2016): Drama, Romance, War
*right now i'm reading the book "The Bloody Road to Death" by Sven Hassel

Superhero movies:
Thor Ragnarok (2017) - funny
Avengers Infinity War (2018) - good
Wonder Woman 2017 - ok
Ant-man 2 - ok
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017) - boring, annoying, snoozefest
Deadpool 2 - shit, garbage, gross, horrible... 🤢

I just recently started watching The Big Bang Theory series (know, know it's too late), but it hit me so much and liked, so that I can’t stop watching) And the most interesting thing is that this series instilled in me an interest in exact sciences, although I used math assignment help earlier, but now I'm studying this subject little by little and I like it.

Saw The Wandering Earth in theaters with a friend yesterday. There was quite a bit of overly nationalistic undertones which I was iffy about, and I was expecting more sci-fi than I got. (The film was basically a disaster movie.) But overall I enjoyed it. If anything, it was a hell of a spectacle.

And, on a completely technical note, the subtitles were serviceably accurate, but not very... fluid or beautiful. The translations definitely felt like it needed a few more passes to correct awkward word choices, context errors, and overly literal statements. (Like, I know 意外 technically means "mishap", but when there's a follow-up rejoinder of how so-and-so is the 意外, you should probably translate it as "mistake"!) And translate the road safety warning in the trucks as the traditional poem it was meant to be (in Shakespearean sonnet structure to emphasis the old-timey-ness of it would've been amazing) instead of some weird disjointed sentences!

Pokémon Detective Pikachu (2019) was a blast!

A straight 8.2/10 .

Man, Pikachu (Ryan Reynolds) singing ' Gotta Catch 'Em all ' with sad voice was hella hilarious to me. 😂
Loved it though and though. I might be a very slightly biased with the rating being a fanboy, but you can't blame me. And believe me blindly when I say it's great and recommending you to watch it whenever you got time and make your own judgement.
Seeing a treasured childhood past time making into this great live action setup. ❤

Avengers: Endgame (2019) - 9/10

Nothing much to say about it other than it being awesome. And great way to close off one journey to pave way for another.

Shazam! (2019) - 7.8/10

DC has come a long way with this. Going past their 'Dark' stereotype. Hoping to see a sequel very soon!

Just watched Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019).
It's a nice movie. Many may claim that it's a level down from it's prequel Homecoming, but I believe it'll differ from person to person. Overall It's entertaining. And what's more is that, we get to see the action happening on various parts of Europe throughout most of the movie, a bit of scenario change from your average MCU movie.

Those of the ones going to watch it 3D will especially love it. A ton of illusions on the play here this time around. 😉

It's a clean 7.5/10 from me.

Dark Phoenix (2019) took a bit of darker turn on the other hand, which is good in a way as I see it. Coming under the original family (studio), where the series belonged definitely tinned it for the good.
We see many old faced retiring with the closure of it.

Giving it 7/10.

Men in Black: International (2019) is OK...but, that's all it is. Nothing special to write home about. Just watch it and make your own judgement.

6.5/10

Live Action
Spiderman: Far from Home- Watched it with my bff and her younger cousins.I'm not super interested in MCU and the only movie so far I actually really liked was Infinity War (Endgame was mediocre at best though) but she really likes it so I didn't refuse.Enjoyed the villain and a good portion of the movie but the humor (which I found actually funny at times) ruined it for me.
Blade Runner 2049: The beginning and the buildup was great but kinda felt mediocre after the climax.Still enjoyed it enough to decide to check the first movie though.
Avengers: Endgame: Since I loved Infinity War,I watched the sequel. It wasn't good as Infinity War but still enjoyed some parts.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
The time travel explanation felt oxymoronic.

Animated
The Incredibles 2: I don't remember the first movie enough to compare with it but loved it nonetheless, even it had some pacing issues.

HBO´s Watchmen is amazing btw. and Joker is my favorite film of the year so far.
DC is having a very good year if I consider how good the DCU shows are and even Pennyworth (S02 is confirmed) has been. They made a hard-R Alfred prequel work! Too bad about the CW shows and some of the toon films but it´s all good fam.

Saw Bong Joon-ho's Parasite a week ago. Absolutely fantastic film. Probably his best work yet. Completely deserves the Palm d'Or and any future awards it's sure to get. It's a film that's stuck with me long after I finished watching it. Though I went into the film expecting a psychological thriller because of review headlines and instead got a slow-moving inevitable tragedy, so, uh, that was fun.

Star Wars "ended". Or so they say. My IMDB review:

Star Trek into Dumbness - Part II
The Burial of Skywalker is a triumph of production values, music and little else. Many actors did their best to elevate the canon and lore destroying material but only Uncle Palps succeeds from start to finish. Kylo does his best but even a beast as Adam Driver is undone by the abhorred 3rd act. Whoever has to follow this is cursed. JJ gave it his all with EP VII (8,5/10) it is now a bit undone by the followups, Rian made an interesting but meandering non-sequel with EP VIII (8/10) and JJ then came in with a poorly thought out killing blow that was designed to serve all and thus serves none. Only the 4 Clone Era films are (slightly) worse as they fail basic film making criteria. They have better stories though.
What kills me is how many questions I am left with after seeing this film outside of the spotty film making. I keep up with the EU that isn´t exclusively made for children. Always have, always will. I take the good with the bad, I roll with the punches (the Dark Nest) but why did we burn the old EU if THIS is what makes it into the cinemas? I could obviously say #### it and just accept that this was a science fantasy popcorn film made for test audiences but I never left a SW film with basic lore questions even if I disliked it!
This film made SW smaller and is the end result of a parade of fired directors. Thank the Force for the Disney+ shows, some of the upcoming books/comics (the poor Knight of Ren) and the final Clone Wars season. 4,5/10

PS: The back paddling by JJ, the cast and the left in the rain story group has to be seen to be believed. No more cinematic films till at least 2025 and no more this-has-to-come-out-no-matter-what trilogies for at least another decade. And I say this as someone who likes 4/5 Disney film.

And my Witcher S01 review:

Beautiful chaos
The show drops you right in and remains a watchable mess from start to finish. The astonishing production values make it. Trashy source material (this remixes 3 whole books!) it mostly adheres to but is randomly adapted via time jumps and mediocre acting and somewhat weird direction undo it. I may return for S02E01 to see if there will be a marked improvement but the longer the books go on the worse they get so I am not holding my breath. Those drown in casual rape as character development for the women and this version already got a head start on that in the pilot. Be warned in advance this is Trigger Warning - The Show.
About our anti-hero Henry Cavill. He is sadly miscast and delivers a meh performance that is neither book (he is a bummer who is a side character in his own story) nor game (he is a revelation). Quality actor, wrong show. The whole cast is kind of a mess and misses the point of the source material I would argue. The critic got it right this time. I was considering giving this a very weak 6/10 due to my knowledge of the game/book canon which was the only reason I could follow along but I plainly stopped having any fun by the time the storylines somewhat converged at the end and such a dramatic show shouldn´t leave anyone with apathy. Play the games instead. They start a bit rough but end in greatness and stay away from the books. 5/10

PS: This is obviously better made than the 2001/2 adaptation but that one is at least easy to follow and bothers to explain what a Witcher and Geralt are early through an origin story. Keep Wikia open at all times for this one!

I am beyond hyped for the body horror "masterpiece" Cats btw!

The Oscars, eh. You can´t call them all white due to the wins after the reform. #Oscarsallmale next? They kind of are but the whole industry is burned like that and it will take a long time to fix itself.

I don´t get why Gamers Rise Up - 2019 was nominated for 11 if it only won 2 but Mr. J is now a legit prestige role. I wonder what this will do to future WB films. Will a Batman ever win? Netflix got legit snubbed though. Marriage Story and especially The Irishman are proper films. Parasite is at least a highlight and Bong Joon-ho directed some quality films before, most of all Memories of Murder. Obama kinda won an Oscar today btw as he produced the winning documentary.
In conclusion: Joker was my favorite film of 2019 and I saw every wining film outside of the short doc and Judy. I´ll watch the later tomorrow. I also saw every Best Picture winner ever. A slightly fruitless endeavor but the very first winner ever Wings is pretty good.

I Imdb reviewed the new Harley Quinn film btw. See I ain´t a shill. DC can be really mediocre. Like the barely above-average Crisis on CW or some of the toon film like the 2019 Wonder Woman one.

Better than the 2002/3 Birds of Prey show and that´s it
I have been reading DC comics since the mid-90s, actually liked Suicide Squad Extended Edition (it was weirdly comic accurate by the standards of these adaptations) and I love Harley´s new TV-Ma rated cartoon but I had to force myself to pay attention here. The film has little to do with anything, neither the performances nor the visuals stand out and both the direction and writing feel a bit amateurish as they are done by no-name newcomers. I can fully believe that this was a troubled production and I don´t get how any of this cost 85 million to film. Gotham or most of the Marvel shows on Netflix honestly "felt" more expensive.
Don´t ask me where the Golden Tomato on RT came from as I struggled to enjoy myself despite being the target audience. The middling Metascore is way more accurate. I don´t necessarily think that the film derives to flop, which it actually might after the abysmal opening weekend, but I honestly don´t care for a sequel either. WB should have done a Gotham City Sirens starring Harley and a Birds of Prey film starring Batgirl instead with seasoned directors and writers. David Ayer and Jared Leto might get the last laughs here, lol. Good luck James Gunn, you might need it.
All in all the worst DC life action film since Green Lantern and I would have given the film a full point more if it wasn´t burdened by a cringe-inducing narration that can´t stop. 5/10

PS: I now like TROS even less after a rewatch and the whole Sequel Trilogy took a tumble for me. Rogue One and Solo are still legit, if a bit meme-y. TFA ain´t bad either but it sadly never got a "real" sequel. On to Clone Wars S07, Mando S2 and hopefully a Rebels followup. The Rogue One prequel show could also work but Disney lead SW needs to be reformed from the top down.

The Oscars is nothing more than a sham to begin with, existing for no other reason than for Hollywood (And their friends) to jerk themselves off. No one actually cares about it.

Also, why are you bringing up race and sex when the Oscars clearly hasn't cared about that for the past 80 years?
