Muv-Luv Alternative Manga Ends After 10 Years
The official blog for Kadokawa's Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh magazine announced on Monday that Azusa Maxima and Age's Muv-Luv Alternative manga will end in the June issue on Thursday.
The manga launched almost ten years ago in the magazine's October 2007 issue. Kadokawa shipped the 16th compiled volume on October 27.
The manga adapts adult game brand Age's visual novel of the same name. Age released the first Muv-Luv title in 2003 after creating Kimi ga Nozomu Eien (Rumbling Hearts), and then released Muv-Luv Alternative in 2006. Publisher Degica and developer Ixtl crowdfunded an English release for Muv-Luv and Muv-Luv Alternative in 2015.
Kadokawa has also published the Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse and Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse rising manga based on the game franchise's Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse spinoff novel. The spinoff novel inspired a television anime in 2012, and the prequel novel Schwarzes Marken also inspired an anime in 2016.
