Simple question:
Do you watch the anime versions of the mangas you read?

In reality, you'll probably apply to a mix of the choices, depending on the series and your free time to read manga / watch anime. I know for myself, if I had the time, I'd watch anything good.

Stats:
Question: Do you watch the anime versions of the mangas you read?
Choices:
All the time - votes: 893 (13.1%)
If the manga was good - votes: 2901 (42.5%)
Only for specific genres - votes: 389 (5.7%)
Sometimes, if I have nothing better to do - votes: 1275 (18.7%)
No, I prefer to stick with the original manga - votes: 753 (11%)
I read the manga after watching the anime - votes: 617 (9%)
There were 6828 total votes.

I prefer to stick to manga. Only go for the anime if the manga isn't translated or the scanlation is in an early stage.

Only if the manga was brilliant, to be worth sitting through the story all over again.

... This is kinda hard to say... I prefer manga above all else... it's straight to the point and is (at times) bound to end without a cliffhanger or questions unanswered... Yet... I watch anime that leaves cliffhangers or questions unanswered... like... Flame of Recca. I don't do it on purpose... Anime is addicting in my view and I can't help but to constantly watch and download.

Anime gives a different view of the Manga that you read...

Stuff that I read and watch would be
Naruto, Bleach, D.Gray-man, Busou Renkin, Rurouni Kenshin, Sgt. Frog... Actually... just about everything I read and watch....

_ Wow... I just found something out about myself that I never realised....

If I've seen the anime adaptation first, I'll read the manga since it's usually better or has extra content that's canon. But if I've read the manga first, I rarely watch the anime, since usually all I'd be gaining information wise is filler material.

Usually, I will watch an anime first and then pic up the manga if I like it. The whole point is the telling of the story, not the medium through which it is conveyed.

Seconded, first the anime, then the manga (except for some manga that are great and dont have an anime adaptation)

Same here (third).
If I find time, I'll check both anime and manga.
Basically, manga greatly interests me if not adapted to anime.

depends on which one i find first. if the manga/anime is good i'll usually watch/read the other version. if one version is bad and i get reviews that the other is good, i'll consider going through the series again.

For the most part I decide my reading and watching separately, based on whether the anime/manga looks good rather than whether I've read/watched its counterpart.

There are always differences between the two mediums, and though generally I like manga better, there have been a few series that I liked the anime better, so I try to keep an open mind about it.

I'm actually much more likely to watch a live-action version of a manga I liked than an anime version (keep in mind that most of what I read doesn't require amazing special effects etc. 🤣 ).

Well usually if I have nothing better to do.

I voted no. For me, I guess the quality of art is really really important to my enjoyment. So I've found myself less and less interested in anime because I can't stand things like inconsistent quality of animation. I can only think of a couple series I really enjoy as anime (I'm more talking about series here; movies tend to have consistently good animation). Usually, I'd just rather look at the pretty pictures done by the original artist.

It's also faster to read than watch, and I don't really have a whole lot of time to just sit around watching a show. With manga, it's easier to stop and start up again and go at my own pace.
