I am incredibly bored. Does anyone know a good action anime or romance anime for a mature male? Good plot and a decent amount of drama?

Maybe some nice manga too. Good art, maybe a little ecchi, thick, enticing plot, decent length (like 35+ chapters) not too much heavy action(art gets a little busy for my tastes). Preferably with the characters being out of high school.

Check my lists for a reference

Please and thank you

If you've never seen the Elfen Lied anime, I'd seriously recommend it. One of the few animes that really stays true to the manga.

I don't like Elfen Lied. 1 it's spelled elven 2 it is too much like berserk. Violence like that gets old after a while.

I especially agree with number one.

  1. Elven is a totally different thing. The title Elfen Lied means Elf Song in german, so elfen is just the german word for elf.

For anime, I'm liking Gundam 00 for a time burner, but for some manga, Rookies. Not much is out but it reminds me of GTO to an extent. for romance, i usually skip straight to the dramas, so i doubt you'd be interested. (in case you are 😀 , Marrying a Millionaire was good, so was Hana Kimi (both jp and tw, but jp was better)

hope it helps to ease some of the boredom.

I remember you said you haven't watched it yet, but Cowboy Bebop is a must see. I've only seen the dubbed version, but it's the best dubs I've seen so far.
Other awesome anime series:
Honey and Clover
Mushishi
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (also 2nd Gig and Solid State Society)
Gunslinger Girl

Some anime films worth checking out:
Tokyo Godfathers
Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo (aka The Girl Who Leapt Through Time)
Byousoku 5 cm

Manga:
PlanetES

It sounds too much like the Saw concept, and that is a big turn off.
