Since the installment of this lovely feature,
questions have been popping up about the definitions of some such categories.

I created this thread for people to ask here, instead of making random threads.
Please don't post with questions like "what's moe?" or "what's yandere?"
Those are terms you can easily find using google.

This is an example of a good question.
Something that's not completely obvious
and that you're unlikely to understand by googling.

For a better subject recognition, please bold your subject, like so:

What is Borderline H?

Same with when answering:

Borderline H -

Is this and that...

a user wont automatically understand that they have to look for a thread that says "category clarification" for such a question ...

can't MU do a little better in making this more convenient and understandable...

you should make a little tab by it that says [Help?]
so a user can click it when they don't understand

what is Rated T, Angst and Borderline H?

Rated T = Rated Teen, for teenagers
Angst = Anxiety and dread, almost always depressing and dramatic
Borderline H = Almost porn (hentai), but it's not quite there. It's pretty much super-ecchi.

whats Seke?
whats Triad?

Seke = A character in yaoi that enjoys being both seme and uke
Triad = Group of 3 connected people (I think it refers too, anyways)

I haven't read any manga with the triad tag, but I would have thought it's more likely it's referring to Chinese triads, which are criminal groups somewhat similar to mafia or yakuza.

For the tag "extended flashbacks", would that mean there are a lot of flashbacks or do the flashbacks take up many chapters?

I think it generally leans towards the length.

In order to make a new category, you first need a series that has it.
Click on the edit button next to the word "categories" in the manga's name.
Then you will be directed to a window that has the listing of the categories used for that particular series. Be sure to follow this: "Add a set of categories below. Please look over the existing set of categories for the series before adding a new one. If your category does not receive sufficient support from the community, it will be deleted."

Check if there's such a category by clicking on "Categories" on the right (under Genres).

----

I was told that netorare is the act of stealing one's girlfriend.
But here's a nice, detailed explanation:

Quote
Netorare (寝取られ) are games where someone steals the heroine away from the protagonist.

These types of games are designed to cause the player to have sexual jealousy.

For a game to be classified as Netorare the following conditions must be met:
1. The heroine must be close (osananajimi, etc.), romantically involved or a close relative (sister, mother, etc.) with the protagonist.

2. If it is an eroge, related sexual events are explicitly shown to the player or later described in detail.

Aliases:
NTR
affair
cheating

O_o I googled it (urbandictionary came up) and I still don't quite get it. .-.

Quote from from urbandictionary
Tanbi style includes flowery language and uncommon kanji/words, which makes it a difficult read for foreigners.

So... flowery language... what? lol There's no way to tell how difficult it is to read since majority are reading scanlations. What a useless tag.

Consider that translators have choices for things like that:

Translate it directly and add a note explaining it so hopefully foreigners will understand it.
Translate it into something that might make sense in English.

There are probably more things to do as well, but I would hardly call the tag useless.
