It is licensed and the first volume was released recently.

I'm hoping the translations are on-par with the scanlations (because fan translations always seem to destroy paid translators...)

Tooting my own horn a bit here, but Musashi Quality is also scanlating Hayate now. We're working off sharp scans of the original Japanese, so you might want to check out our versions as well.

We just released chapter 42, and 43 is forthcoming.

though, in one way or another, its made him a better person (despite the fact that he's always poor looking)--certainly wouldn't want anything remotely similar to happen in real life though... such neglect
