i got in the mail today my parts I ordered, a gig of ram, 7600 GS 512 mb, and a new case. I put all my old stuff into my new case and hooked everything up. My disk drive doesn't read cds in the IDE2 slot and Windows doesn't start up properly if I have it in IDE1. Anyone know how to solve my problem( and don't say reformat because...ugh.)

That's odd since you're using the same motherboard. But well, you are saying that your disk drive doesn't read CDs in the secondary IDE and that your OS doesn't boot up properly in the primary IDE. If that's so, Why don't you just put the disk drive in the primary IDE and the hard drive in the secondary?
