I have gotten excited(not sexual) and have had a nose bleed as a result.I had guessed that it is the same thing, though I am probably wrong.

the mangakas are exaggerating it a bit though theyre making it too non-realistic, i mean how on earth is someone going to have sex if he gets a nosebleed and faints everytime he sees a boob =\ (example: nagaserete airantou)

It's not just a symbol of erection. It's a symbol of premature ejaculation. There is a rush of blood to the body part (nose), and expulsion of fluid (blood), and then a faint (post-coital nap). It symbolizes that the woman is not just sexy enough to arouse the guy, but also finish him off.

Yeah, I'm going with this one..

I think we get nosebleed because we (I guess my family) lives in a place of relatively high elevation and dry atmosphere. Like about 1700 meters above sea level.

Ahh, I get it now. Good show, old chum.

That's private info.....the city is in the mountain ranges. Kind of isolated.

where mangakas got it from: i saw somewhere that japan has an old wives' tale that says something like when your sexual desire goes up, you get nosebleeds
or it symbolizes an erection

scientifically: your blood pressure and body temperature goes up so quickly it leaks through your nose (theoretically speaking)

I just found out today, that the nose contains some erectile tissue.

The tissue causes it to get bigger when blood rushes to the head, though the example used to explain it was lying (omg Pinocchio is true!).

Erections make sense. But why not mucus? Why blood? The fact that blood has more violent connotations, like he's raping the woman? bothers me.

But why not mucus?

He started to emit mucus when he saw her naked body.

Sounds hot?

I say they should just be direct to the point >_> But I think the nosebleed is pretty funny.

Actually, the mucus is for crybaby crying. Go back to Naruto Ch. 1 and see the part where Iruka tells Mizuke that Naruto is not a beast. When Naruto starts crying, there is a bunch of snot dripping from his nose. Then look at all crying kids from manga and you will see they all have snoty, mucus nostrils.

I don't think the blood has anything to do with rape, blood isn't violent - it carries oxygen to our tissues and makes us be alive.

The dripping snot really happens when kids cry though, doesn't it?

There's also the salivation... with food or when seeing sexy girls/guys. Is that like Pavlovian conditioning too? 🤣

I don't think I've ever had a nosebleed, over hot guys or otherwise.
