Zetman is "only halfway finished"
At Japan Expo, manga creator Masakazu Katsura said that he believes that he is only halfway finished with the story of Zetman. Katsura said at a panel that he chose to continue with Zetman rather than the three volumes of Shadow Lady as he wanted to develop the world of Zetman further. He added that he has total freedom over the story's development. When asked is he knew if Zetman would be adapted into a live-action Hollywood film, Katsura said he was not against the idea, and he noted that Tim Burton's Batman film was a source of inspiration for Zetman. A complete transcript of Katsura's panel, in French, is available on the Total Manga website.
Originally a one-shot in 1994, Zetman centers around Jin, a poor young man who lives with his grandfather. Jin has excellent fighting skills and a halo carved in his hand. A scientist named Amagi is searching for a professor to learn the whereabouts of Zet, who is a "Player" or a kind of genetically altered human created years before. Soon, Jin and his grandfather are attacked by a man who turns into a monster, and Jin learns that he has a personal connection to the professor and the Z.E.T. Project.

Wow, only halfway? I thought it'd be like 3/4. Guess he has a lot more surprises in store.

With the developments from the last few volumes, I think a little over half-way makes sense. There's still a ton to be accomplished and learned, though.

Less than a year later... It get's an anime....
Not to bring back old memories, but this was quoted 3 years ago correct? Three volumes of the series have since been published, and it continues in Young Jump, so if the math works out the way I think it does, at this rate Zetman still has another 10 years and will top out at 400 ish chapters?
Oh, and this series needs a proper anime, not this TMS bullshit. Give it to Madhouse.

Oh, ...
Fuck yeah man. I totally agree.... the anime was sad in my opinion. If it was given to a proper Mature Anime Studio where the anime could have shined more, it would be more likable. Not saying anything bad about TMS though, they have their share of anime that I love, but it's just not for Zetman in my opinion.
BTW, chapter 185 is a huge cliffhanger as always with Zetman chapters. =.=
Oh definitely, TMS has some irreplaceable gems. Zetman just needs a more loyal adaptation that isn't afraid to go all the way. I look at all the love Shingeki no Kyojin is getting (which it deserves), and I wonder if Zet can eventually reach that status.
