I had a bit of a nightmare last night( I guess you could call it that ), that when I woke up I laughed a bit so I thought I'd share it.

In my dream, I'm sitting at the kitchen table doing something ( I can't remember ). Suddenly, from behind me comes my mom and she slams down these two print outs of what looks to be a rather erotic looking yaoi manga cover and she says "Whats this?" accusingly.

My thoughts at the time were first "she went on my computer?" and then "Oh no, shes going to think I'm gay".

But, being the smooth fast thinker I am, even in my dreams I was able to pull off "Those are cover pages for comics, in japan they sell comics of different genres together, thats just another genre" ( the selling different genres together part afaik is a lie, but shes ignorant of manga so I took advantage of that ).

Like I mentioned, I thought it was pretty funny when I woke up, but that might've been due to the relief I felt when I realised this situation never actually took place.

For a girl, Imo it wouldn't be too much of a problem if they were "outted" as a reader of yaoi. Theres no real issue with people questioning your sexual prefferences. At most they'd probably just think you're a bit weird. Don't get me wrong, its not an issue of "being gay is bad" its has more to do with being misunderstood or them being mistaken and there not really being anything you can do to reverse it.

Feed your head.

I think when you say a girl would be thought of as "just weird" is a little bit of an understatement. 😀 When my parents realized I read yaoi they actually questioned my sexual preferences, which I found very odd, since I'm a girl looking at boys... 😕
I think many people can't differentiate reality with this kind of fiction, so when someone doesn't understand manga, and especially yaoi, they may think your "some kind of crazy." 🤣

Anyway, I think I would hate a dream like that, I think I'd wake up in a cold sweat, lol.
