Everyday I'm tumblin'

Like a few of the others, the primary reason I ever do anything remotely violent or aggressive is defensive in nature (mostly self-defense oriented, but I have seriously threatened people for friend's sakes). Honestly, I try not to resort to physical violence. If I really feel the need to hurt someone, mental and social traumas tend to be much longer lasting than a black eye or a broken arm, and often have less immediate consequences.

That is the main reason why I prefer physical violence as apposed to mental/social retribution. If I am offended in a way that angers me enough to enact a means of retaliation, I would rather have a non lasting, more cathartic event in which to assuage my anger.

That's a healthier outlook than mine. I've always figured that if someone actually did something bad enough to deserve my full wrath (and keep in mind that in reality at least I'm a fairly tolerant person), they deserve more permanent consequences. It's a sort of mild sadism (and also a bit of immaturity), I guess.
