Never done it. I've mixed some Spanish words and phrases into English sentences, but it was mostly for practice and because one of my friends went through as phase where she only responded to me in Spanglish. Yeah, it was a bit weird, but it helped me learn conversational Spanish 🙂

I only say some Japanese words in English sentences sometimes.
I mostly mix Vietnamese and English together though 🤢 ;

Sometimes, mostly when I'm talking to someone who is also learning it or to a Japanese transfer students since I am not quite good enough to carry a full Japanese conversation. When I am talking to anyone who doesn't know Japanese I never use it, even if they're one of my friends.

Unless it involves something manga/anime related like the name of some attack in a shounen series or there isn't a suitable english counterpart for the word (using the word "shounen" is an example), I never mix languages. I had a spanish teacher who drilled into my head that mixing two languages was something that just made you look stupid.

I don't approve. It's a flaming fangirl flag. There's nothing worse than hearing grossly mangled Japanese in sentences or settling down to read a story into which random Japanese is inserted.

In fanfics, it is understandable for authors to use the suffixes (san, sama, chan, etc.) if the story is set in Japan or if the suffix or name simply does not translate, but that's about all I can take... ^^;;

The only time I ever speak Japanese is when I speak Japanese. I'm attempting to learn the language with some friends and sometimes we'll work on conversation skills.

I mix mandarin chinese and english when talking to my parents and brother, but using japanese ANYWHERE would be quite embarrasing. It kinda shows whose on which side of the anime/manga loving community. Entertainment or Obsession. 😔 😔

It annoys me, especially when it's mispronounced. I know a pretty good amount of Japanese, so it annoys me even more because I can really tell when they're using the words wrong!
Especially in real life it makes people sound immature and it's also like a raging arrow above their head that points out the fact that all they know about anime they garnered from watching AdultSwim and browsing the forum on Neopets.

Ugh

But of course, that doesn't apply to words like 'tsundere' that are honestly hard to put into English and retain their meaning. They're kind of like anime/manga fan jargon. I'll use those along with English, but only if the person I'm talking to understands. XD

The thing that's irritating is when people are talking along and all the sudden they say samui instead of cold or neko instead of cat or baka instead of stupid etc. etc. It interrupts the flow of the conversation and it's distracting also.

Always use the simple japanese words like mushi-mushi, arigatao, sayonara, gambate, tasukete and the most interesting is baka...Baka bakashi 🤣

I was on a mangafox forum and someone used Dorama instead of Drama.
REALLY!? ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?
I think it's cool that the Japanese use actual English words, but just spell them/ pronounce them wrong. Whatever.
But if you're English and you use the Japanese spelling/pronounciation... I WILL FLAME YOU!
