I find it incredibly annoying when Japanophiles use Japanese words in Swedish/English sentences.

I don’t mix Japanese into English since being in England it’s hard to find someone that actually knows any Japanese, other than that I only speak Japanese in my mind or if I want to ignore someone.

teehee~ i asked my friend, who is a japanese fob, if she felt uncomfortable if i used japanese words, and she said it's normal. but then again, i've known her so many years that it might be normal in our relationship... but i don't use japanese words in conversations with other people. just her....

There's such thing as a Japanese fob? We usually just call those losers LOL. But Japanese fob sounds so much nicer <3

I only know one, and she's not my friend, because she's mean. stays away

At our school, a Japanese fob is stereotypically really quiet when not with other Japanese people. And they're not fluent (at least completely) with English. Something like that... They tend to be pretty polite most of the time.

If you think about it, having a "foreigner" mispronouncing and misusing your language can make you cringe, from embarrassment, for them.

mm... I guess? But I try to use the correct accent, and my friend corrects me if I'm wrong. Essentially, the main reason I use Japanese with her is to learn the language on an unofficial basis.

I didn't use Japanese words in my sentences before, mainly because I didn't know much common words in able to use them anyway. Even if I knew, I wouldn't likely to use them much since the person I was talking to online might not know it anyway. No point giving them trouble.

Currently, I'm learning Japanese so I try to throw in Japanese words in sentence or use a whole Japanese sentence when I'm talking to my friend who is always in Japanese class. This is to train my reflex to automatically able to answer in Jap right away, not take about 2 minutes to remember the sentence.

I use it once awhile too online now to train my reflex, but I usually will write the English meaning beside it. I ask other people to ignore the Jap words.

I don't really mix English and Japanese online but at home and school I do. My friends and some relatives are Japanese so it's easier to communicate in their language sometimes. The only time I mix English with Japanese is when they can't understand what I'm saying. I'm so use to it that I even do it when I don't need to. People find that annoying at times. 😢

When someone does that in front of me I either think they're trying to impress or Japanese freaks. When you speak, pick a language and stick with it.

I think if it's fun and you can successfully communicate there is no reason not too speak in as many languages as you can. I think switching languages on the fly can also make you smarter by increasing cognitive thought and brain activity because you need to concentrate on switching vocabulary as opposed to passive communication that is processed on an almost subconscious level.

Life is tough......but it's tougher if you're stupid.

now that i think about it, i do use japanese words (excluding lessons)
i use them with my bro when we want to say sth in front of our parents without them knowin wht we said.

uhm I think it's not annoying , but I rarely mix english & japanese =3
it's ok, when they can't fluent english or another and mix them.
well, there're ppl who can't understand japanese, then it's annoying for them.

I know people who do, and depending on the situation its not too bad. I do it with Chinese myself, but only when i'm talking to Chinese family or friends.

And what happens if you're trying to speak Japanese to your friend who's native Japanese and you don't know the word IN Japanese? Gotta switch back to English asap! 🤣

It was funny last night at dinner...Marie-senpai, Hika-chan, and I all speaking some weirdo language of Japanese, English, and Engrish... 🤣 Some Indian (dot) girl was sitting next to us, just staring at us...that's what you get for trying to eavesdrop!! A conversation that makes absolutely no sense except to the actual speakers and those we invite to join. 🤣
