I have a Kindle and i've tried buying manga through amazon to read on it... I dislike the way i had to either buy it through Amazon (mainly because they only have the licensed mainstream manga and yaoi), or download and convert it yourself. However it sure does feel nice to read manga on something else than a LCD screen and then it's PORTABLE biggrin But for the time being i am going to stick to my pc and the mangafox app on ipod. bigrazz

I'd prefer to have a physical copy of manga rather than read it on my computer/other electronic device.
However, if there is a manga that I like with limited availability (only on e-book), then I may consider it, but I am usually disinterested.

I read a yaoi ebook....it was kind of...shitty to be honest. Mangaka should stick to translating the story through pictures and not writting....no offense to any yaoi ebook fans.

And ebook is expensive to buy anywhere...I just torrent or dl....my justification is that knowledge should be free, except university and professional training programs.

I'm not interested.

Mainly because the format still needs work as do the readers you read them on. Format wise, it would have to be DRM free and available to download/convert into another format easily and in exactly the same layout as the original but then there are issues with how large the pages should be. Are they sufficient enough quality for a 6 inch device, would the quality suffer if it got used on a 10 inch tablet etc? On my Sony PRS-505, some comics turn out well especially those with few words, but the ones with a lot of text would be unreadable on such a device. I'm not going to fork out money if I can't read it.

I think it should be the other way around... University / professional training programs should be free to a certain extent, and you should have to pay for the e books... Since you usually don't learn very many things from manga. But yeah they're way overpriced.

Well university is taught by professors and professionals. They spent their time on students and they should get paid. Along with the equipments and the facilities and resources that must be compensated through tuition. Whereas ebooks are just knowledge, hell you can go to the library and borrow that book, scan it into your computer for free. So why must I pay for ebooks? Especially since there's no physical form. I can get one copy and make infinite amount of it.

I don't really like ebooks in general; so, why would I like a manga ebook.
