No, there have been no official announcements as of yet (as far as I know), but there have been speculations going around. And they were thinking about fleshing the Darker than Black universe even more. I'm quite satisfied with the first season, so I'd only like a second season if they do a good job on it and not ruin something great.

Wow, it's confirmed? Awesome! 😀 I just started watching the first season recently and I'm only halfway done, but I'm still excited that there's gonna be a second season because I'm enjoying it so far. ^_^ I hope the first season ended in a way that will segue nicely into a second season. 😳

im a bit skeptical with the 2nd season... cos like half of the cast is now dead or at least the setting while be different so old characters dont play a part anymore... new characters, i kinda hate that cos theres a chance the story will get too far fetched and crappy...

on the other hand im hoping for a continuation of misaki and co. x hei plot and also elaboration on the hells gate etc etc...

any eta for 2nd season btw?

Maybe the mystery around Hell's Gate will be explored further. Hei and Yin are on the run from the Syndicate now too. I dunno, but I don't think the plot will stagnate. I hope Mao makes a reappearance as their pet! The newly adapted manga follows the anime and it's set one year after the Hell's Gate fiasco with Hei and co. It's illustrated by the original character designer for DtB to boot. Only one chapter has been scanlated so far, but I think it's setting up to be a good one, so I'm thinking the second season will probably be good too. 😀

Season two's been announced to air in October.
