I've been using mangaupdates for nearly 8 years now and have grown very accustomed to using the "Releases" section to find new manga. Obviously, I can't speak for the rest of the users out there, but as of recent year/s the new release section is (in my opinion) overwhelmingly flooded with releases of novels. I attribute this to the rising popularity of Chinese novels and the crazy rate at which they pump out the translations, (Which I personally read my fair share of).

Therefore, I'm looking to the community to give their input on the matter. What do you think? My personal opinion is that a new subsection be added under the releases link that applies exclusively to novels/ light novels.

Side note:
If there is somewhere else I should be taking this idea/ opinion. Please inform me.

I'm pretty sure that a new feature was implemented last year, allowing users to filter out novels from the releases section. I can't seem to find it, though.

Edit: Oh, there it is: User CP-->Edit profile -->Types to Hide

Wow, I had no idea this feature had been there. Thanks so much for providing the instructions!

I voted yes. It would be nice if they were to separate the releases of novels and mangas. I read a lot of novels these days, so it would be nice to find new novels to read when I can view all the releases together 😛

Albeit, this is just a trivial matter. Does not do much difference if the section is added or not. 😁

Separate those novels! Unlike a manga, where you can get some idea of whether you'd like ti right away by just seeing the art and the brief summary, a novel has to be read pretty far into to get a clear idea of whether it's any good.

There seem to be so many of them now that I wouldn't possibly have time to do that in order to find one to read, so I'd rather just be able to skip them here, and maybe hear about good ones through forum mentions, etc.
