Hey guys! My best bud recently broke up with his gf and she is absolutely depressed. So I thought of trying to cheer her up for she is considering going back, after a 15 month pause, to drugs, alcohol, and shit like that. I don't want to see her ruin her life again so I need ideas (be it jokes, activities, ect) for cheering her up.
I've made her promise me she won't do such things and I'm taking her to this great musical (since she's into acting and singing). But other than that, i have no idea. btw, I have no intentions to woo her. I just want to expedite the transition phase from heartbroken to normal life without her going back to how she was a year ago. thanks

thanks. I'm gonna try my best until i can either settle their dispute or convince her that there are better guys out there. I'm thinking of lending her a captivating adventure/humor book, tell her it's of value to me, and tell her I'll want it back but I'll only take it if she does not harm herself. I'm hoping that will be a constant reminder to steer her away from the intoxicants.

You know that first line confused me a little.
"My best bud recently broke up with his gf and she is absolutely depressed".
You made friends with her right? You can only cheer her up to an extent since you're best bud is the other party. Steping in on over your durastiction is very easy. You sound friendly but i think if your best friend is not friends with her then perhaps you shouldn't. Not because you might get with her but because it is an unwritten rule between friends...Espeacially your best bud.
Its about being socially aware here, you can only comfort her with nice words but anymore than that then it will appear as if you're taking advantege of the situation wether intended or not.
Oh and never! get with you best bud's ex (just thought that would be some more insit on the do not do list!)

I believe in letting people do as they wish, as do I myself. Sometimes, of course, what I wish to do is kill them and they do not wish to die. This gives life interest.
