At the end of Hatsukoi Limited, one pair winds up in an odd situation. A sweet girl is crushed because her beloved senpai is moving away, while she finds out a kind but geeky classmate of hers is crushing hard on her. At the end, she tells him they should both "do their best". This left me wondering if there are any stories that actually play this sort of situation out, a main guy crushing on a girl who's crushing on another boy, and he has to find a way to win her heart before she can win her crush's. Has to be something where he's actually trying to win her heart, not something where he tries to support her love or help her get to him. Bonus if the girl knows about it. HIGHLY preferred that the boy does win in the end (just saying; I've seen too many stories where the boy loses, even if it's painfully obvious they are a better fit).

Ouji-sama ni wa Doku ga Aru. first part of it shows the main male lead pursuing the heroine while also chasing away and getting rid of the other potential love candidates for her. And if you read into the raws

he gets the girl at the end of the recent chapters. However, the heroine is oblivious to his schemes and thinks he’s a cute innocent boy.

Sorry, I couldn’t find much on this that i’ve read before. It’s still a good manga in my opinion though. Anyways, hope you find what your looking for!
