In the manga, it was mentioned how guys being together is the purest form of love, because there are no social obligations for them to be together, and they can't have kids. It's like there's no reason for them to be together, but if they are, then there's no doubt that they really like the person itself.

Mmm I think the kids part was mention in passing. Like there's no benefits to being with another guy, since he can't have kids.
