Silent Protagonists with Special Talents/Powers

These characters who are unable to speak or has his voice taken away, and their only means of communication is through a written paper or notepad, and in turn have a special talent or power that manifested in the main character.
I only know one called "Shion no Ou".
And there was another one that i forgot about: a wizard accused of crimes he did not commit is sentenced to a lifetime of imprisonment(and soon to be executed), and they sealed his mouth so he won't chant any spells. In order to prove his innocence, he tries to convince the guard who watches him though humorous means, but was misunderstood by the guardsman(who is a sub-character) in many ways.

Nice manga, the guy can't speak, he has the talent for this drums like instrument...and he uses a notepad and reads lips.
