Ahoaho, I find it interesting that of all the people in BU, you tend to have a point of view remarkably similar to me in every respect. However, this is where I draw the line. Mayonnaise is, in the proper situation, irreplacable. Tuna salad wouldn't exist without mayo. And the almighty ham sammitch would fall steeply from it's exalted grace into the dankest oblivion. Therefore, I will continue to support mayonnaise.

But never when compared to cheese.

I detest mayonnaise with combusting rage. What really surprises me is how much it pops up in manga and anime with people piling the stuff on. Admittedly, it's mostly the coarser people who over use the stuff, but it seems that it's a fairly common topping anyway among Japanes people.

I can't abide mayonnaise, though.

Japanese mayo tastes different from something like Helmann's mayo though. My favorite sushi roll is shrimp, cucumber and Japanese mayo.

Personally I like it in moderation (I dislike that Chinese dish with fried shrimp and mayo though). I hate the look and smell of mustard and I sure as hell wouldn't put ketchup on my cold cuts sandwich. It tastes fine on a Whopper as well.
