I'd consider it a book, since it's using disconnected pieces of various manga to teach Japanese.

I don't completely understand the question, but I'll describe what I think it is.

I think this is a book about how to learn Japanese. It uses manga to help you learn, and notes are written on the side to explain the words you're learning to you.

I hope this helps. (^_^)

There are about 24 different manga listed in the back of the book; it was published in 2005 so they're all older manga. Mostly the book just uses one panel, or a few panels, to illustrate a point about the Japanese language.

Im just a little bit curious about the manga that has the "senior" style of drawing. 🙂
heheh, kinda hoping its in the mangaupdates database so we could know the artist list anthology. That way, we could also track down other manga from the same artist.
