Illustrator Shiro Amano posted on Twitter on Tuesday that his Kingdom Hearts II manga will end in the 10th volume. Amano added that he will end the manga in its serialized form in the issue that will ship in May. The June issue of Square Enix's Shonen Gangan magazine where Kingdom Hearts II is published will ship on May 12.

Amano had launched this adaptation of Square Enix and Tetsuya Nomura's action role-playing game in Shonen Gangan in 2006. However, he left it incomplete when he moved onto Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days. Amano then resumed the manga in 2012 after finishing Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days. Square Enix shipped the ninth volume of Kingdom Hearts II (pictured at right) on February 21.

Amano has created manga adaptations for Square Enix's Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts II, and Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days games. North American publisher Tokyopop released all four volumes of Kingdom Hearts, both volumes of Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, and two volumes of Kingdom Hearts II before the company shut down its North American publishing division in 2011.

Yen Press then licensed all four manga adaptations in 2013. The company has also released the Shiro Amano: The Artwork of Kingdom Hearts artbook, and it will release Tomoco Kanemaki and Amano's two-volume Kingdom Hearts light novel series in March.
