I think it would be pretty great if updates were made to the list function. More specifically, it'd be cool if:
-We could add series to multiple custom lists(i.e. adding one series to favorite romance and favorite fantasy manga).
-We could add short descriptions of the titles that wouldn't show up on the main series page(i.e. This manga belongs on this list because...)
-The character limit for the list description was longer.
I'm trying to use the list function to better sort out the manga I've read/want to read, and maybe use it for recommendations.

I think at this point you'd be better off using another service for lists. Even learning how to program in order to roll out custom lists features seamlessly integrated into MU will be faster. For me, it's quite obvious that MU has one or more of these issues: unmaintainable decrepit pile of a codebase; very busy maintainers or complete lack of them; nobody gives a shit anymore.

That's a harsh way of putting it. It only seems to me it needs some form of update or rewriting. It's still the best Manga tracking site I know, but I admit there are some problems. My main issue with it is the lack of apps for smartphone users in this day and age.

Oh. I guess I should have realized that seeing as how we have a link to Baka-Updates and it's forum even though it's been defunct for a while. Do you have any suggestions as to sites I could use?

I'm actively working on a chrome extension for extending MU's list functionality and making it more convenient to use (As seen in this thread.) As far as I can tell there is simply no website as reliable for manga updates, so I decided to hunker down and make the most of it. All of the features listed in the OP should be possible (in some form) when I get done with it.

@dustysys, I think I'll try it out at some point, then.

For me, the feature to hide some titles that I don't want to show up on my releases list like many novels / chinese comics will really-really help me. Thanks that someone is willing to work on it, even with unnofficial chrome app.

If you're talking about Releases page ( https://www.mangaupdates.com/releases.html ), then it is already possible to hide some types of content from it. This option was added quite some time ago, actually.
Go to your User CP, then to Edit Profile, then look for Types to Hide option. Select what you don't want to see at Releases page and save the settings.
Keep in mind that this will also hide selected types of content from the series search results.

Never realized that. Looks like that will help with hiding Novel title. But still, I want to hide specific titles , ,for example, most xianxia title etc.
