The nice thing about having advanced search options is that you can choose which genres you want and which ones you don't want. It would be nice to have this kind of option with the categories, as well. You can choose categories you want, but you can't choose which ones you don't want. This creates problems when you're doing a very specific search and the category names have the same words in them. For example, you can search for incest, but faux-incest still shows up, even though that's not what you're looking for. It would be nice to have an include and exclude option.

I second this. Every refinement makes searching easier. You would just need to add a second category box, but this one would be for categories that you don't want.

I highly doubt search updates will happen. First off, search algorithms are notoriously hard, and second, they're not very high up on our list of things to fix. Quite the opposite in fact.
