So, once again a character tells pretty much everything there is to know about his powers while ignoring the blatant opening that was created before said power was explained...
This is one of those moments where every individual cell of my body hates Kubo.
Cool power though, and the passive effects to the surroundings give a nice touch to it. Old man's bankai is impressive. And yes, the comparison to Tensa Zangetsu is both inevitable and rather accurate.
@ Kaitentsuki. While Byakuya is a senior compared to Hitsugaya, they are still both relatively fresh. It is not entirely impossible that one has witnessed Yamamotos bankai while the other has not. More than likely though, this is just Kubo forgetting about such things altogether. It would have been better if only folks like Unohana, Kyoraku and Ukitake recognized it.

It kinda looks like a fire version of Zangetsu, you know the normal size sword and the clothes being part of the bankai 😕

This is truly odd, because if we remember Byakuya's comment in soul society arc he did not believe a bankai could be so small, now we see Hitsugaya a younger shinigami then Byakuya i believe? Not really sure, knows that bankai while Byakuya doesn't seeing as he said those stuff about Ichigo's, puzzling.

Its simple.....Kubo never really cares to make something logical.Its obvious that he made old man's bankai idea now but he never gave a second thought that his current logic was destroying the logic which he created in the start. Not that I ever expect any logic from Bleach anyways.....There arw tons of things which really doesnt makes any sense.

Is anyone else annoyed that the old Commander is so isanely strong now, as opposed to when he fought Aizen? What happened to make this change? Also does anyone else feel like Ichigo has been forgotten?

don't worry I'm sure he'll lose soon and Ichigo will come to save the day, maybe get a power up on the way as well 😉

I've never been a fan of the old man, so I am annoyed that he seems to be so damn strong all of a sudden. But I don't think he'll beat the "King". I am waiting for the Ishida's to make their grand entrance.

It could simply be that Hitsugaya does not know about the Bankai itself but recognizes the Reitsu of the Old Man. If the water started to evaporate and he knew the old man was fighting he would assume the sudden enormous spike in energy was a bankai of fire type and it was the old mans.

Actually I would have found it to be interesting if he gets taken down by the Commander. I feel like Kubo made the Gotei 13 incapable of doing anything without Ichigo. At least with other series we see organizations of such standing know how to handle themselves, like OP for example. That war against Whitebeard showed the power of some groups and organizations that affect the world of the story.

I don't understand. Why can't they just seal the old mans bankai? And why did all of the other shinigami suddenly kick the shit out of every other quincy out there in soul society?
