There should be something along the lines of "it's just drawings"/"it's all pretend". The closest is "I don't cry", but that's misleading. Real events can make me cry, but mere media has no ability to do so.

Grave of the Fireflies
I voted for tv series even tough I don't actually watch tv. I often cry on youtube videos, series, documentaries, and stuffs like that, but since the closest option is that.. so yeah.

Yes. So much yes.

i have read a lot more manga than anime, so there is definitely more manga that have made me cry, but the percentage of anime that made me cry out of all the anime i have watched is higher then the percentage of manga so i picked anime
Grave of the Fireflies
thats the first one that came to my mind too, i cried so much in that show

I feel coldhearted...i fell asleep when watching Grave of the Fireflies...
I usually never cry. Tragedy is very appealing to me most of the time, occasionally humorous. However, I actually cried while watching Anohana...sniff such an amazing ending. I also teared up watching Tokyo Magnitude 8.0. But Anohana...menma...

Both books and manga have made me cry equally. I read too many dramatic tragedies 🤢 But the first time I remember crying was while reading R K Narayan's novels.
Anyway, i voted for manga because it has dominated my reading list this year.
The First Pokemon movie made me cry, and its pretty much the only thing that has... Is that anime or movie?

It's between anime and manga. If a manga is really well written, it can wring a couple drops out of me. I have read more manga than I have watched anime therefore I am more inclined to choose manga. At the same time, the music that accompanies the animation in anime produces more times where I get the feels for an anime... Therefore I am undecided...
Plus Grave of the Fireflies dammit. That one gets me every time.

Any kind of strong emotion (sadness, anger, embarrassment, happiness, etc.) always makes me bawl against my will (it's been the source of much embarrassment throughout my life -sigh-). So naturally, I cry hardcore when it comes to fiction. 😛 While all types of fiction/nonfiction/storytelling/whatever have the propensity to make me cry, I voted for manga because that's been the bulk of what I'm reading/viewing these days. Lately, it seems that every new chapter of Pandora Hearts gets me crying even when it's not particularly sad. Although, beautiful scenes and moments really get to me, too. 🤢
Come to think of it, there have been a good number of video games and visual novels that have had me in tears. I distinctly remember weeping openly at the end of Apollo Justice, and the final case of PW: Dual Destinies had me sobbing into my pillow throughout. >.> I guess it seems kind of silly, but crying has always been a deeply cathartic experience for me. 🤣

Kindred spirit!
I didn't fall asleep during fireflies, but I found the whole movie just sort of meh, and not remotely tear-jerking.

Was curious on what is "Grave of the Fireflies", just finished watching it, (or should say, stopped at the last 10-20 minutes, it was so boring...)
I mean, I'm not that numb, I cry at mangas that are sad,
Examples would be Hana to Akuma or Karin (lol, it was not really sad, maybe for others, but for me, the ending was..)
I was kinda, more pissed with the MC, stubborn b*stard..
Or, maybe, this thread just ruined it for me..
