What to read first...

I've heard from many people that GTO is one of the best manga series out there. I checked out the information page on MU to see that GTO had 2 prequels.
Looking at the publication dates, I saw that the second prequel, Shounan Jun'aigumi!, was made in 1990 and I saw that the first prequel, Bad Company, was made in 1996. GTO was made in 1997.
I wasn't sure which series to read first. I don't know if I should read them in the order they were made, or in story order, or even reading GTO first! If someone who has read all three series could tell me what order I should approach this series, that would be great. I'm counting on you guys!
While Bad Company has been completely scanlated, Shounan Jun'aigumi! isn't. They tell the story of the teenager Onizuka. You get to know certain things about Eikichi and his friends that appear from time to time in GTO, but I think you can read GTO without having read those. Shounan Jun'aigumi! is interesting though, since you get to see how the art has changed, and some traits of Eikichi that aren't explained in GTO.

From the post, I suppose I'll read GTO first. Then Bad Company, and then I'll attempt to read Shounan Jun'aigumi!, although it's fully not scanlated.

One of those rare cases where the sequel's popularity far outshines the original. Take note, this may never happen again. 🙄

HOLD ON, give the first 40 chapters of SJG a read, then read BadCompany, and then read GTO. Then while u read GTO, every so often update ur SJG chapters. dats IF you don't wanna miss any references/easter eggs which GTO is full of.
