I just had to recommend this game to all visual novel fans out there. or people who like a really realistically, dark and deep story. We had a Poll on the Mainpage which ended that most people don't even know what visual novels are. if you want to find out check this out.

this is really a hidden masterpiece like the translator states. i've found it by mere chance, and the desciption directly caught my attention.
i've played a lot of Visual Novels, like FSN, Ever17, Song of Saya, Princess Waltz, Tsukihime, Higurashi, Sengoku Rance, Utawarerumono, Tears to Tiara, Clannad and many more.
But in story regards all of those can't even remotely reach this.

I wonder if anyone can get through the first day without shedding manly tears.

Here is an overview by the translator Yandere Translations:

Swan Song
STORY HEAVY EROGE
made by Le. Chocolat.

Plot summary

It is a snowing Christmas Eve... Everything seems so peaceful when a huge earthquake occurs.
The earthquake causes the city to be in ruin, and the surviving people need to find ways to stay
alive. Some go crazy and rob others, some cling onto God, some gather to live together. The 6
main characters meet at a church while they were trying to find shelter from the snow. What will
they see and experience in this extreme situation...?

Characters

 • Tsukasa: Main character. Pretty emotionless and hard to connect with.

 • Yuka: Typical good girl. Reserved and kind.

 • Aroe: Girl with autism. Very tragic. Very random and you can't communicate with her normally.

 • Hibari: One of the best tsundere girl I have ever seen. Energetic and nice.

 • Taeko: A religious girl. Honest and diligent.

 • Nozomi: Sheepish girl, and a bit cruel.

 • Shin: MANLY. Strong, natural leader, reliable, kind, allways positive...

 • Takuma: A chicken. But he slowly changes during the course of the game...

Story

The story is more like a novel or a movie than an eroge. It writes how humans would act in
extreme situations and the madness associated with it. The game shows the story from different
perspectives, and each character is very unique. The story shows the beauty and ugliness of
humans, the meaning of life, and how people live in extreme situations. I really can't stop
praising the story. The story sucks you in and doesn't let you go. Without spoiling much, the
story shows how a group of people live when there are no rules and limited resources. The
constant theme in this game is MADNESS. Oh, and the normal end is nothing but epic. Plus
there are a lot of very different and sometimes disturbing Bad Endings.

Story: 9.5/10

Graphics

SAMPLE <---klick here to see samples

Graphics looks more realistic than cute, but this style matches the story perfectly. It's very
detailed and the background CGs are beautiful. There's enough CGs, but there are scenes where I
thought would be better with more CGs.

Graphics: 8/10

Music

Music is very very good. It really helps create the atmosphere of the story and it's something
you can listen to even when not playing the game.

Music: 9/10

Overall

This game is a hidden masterpiece. It has an excellent story with an EPIC ending. There are a few
minor shortcomings (one being that one of endings is really crappy) that makes this game
not score a 10, but this is one of the must-play eroge.

Recommended for:
People who want epic stories... Actually, I want everyone to try this game if the story interests
you.
Not recommended for:
People who want moe and happy stories.

Overall score: 9.5/10

have fun playing

Mm, I'm considering playing this, but I'm not sure if I can take a super sad ending. I enjoyed Cross Channel, which was (I think) by the same guys as this, but even that got almost too depressing for me at the end.

Wow, I must really have no life, since I've only stopped to sleep, eat, and go to the bathroom. If you don't count the break, it's been about 27 hours since I started "playing" it, and I just finished it. I don't know whether I should hate myself for being so emotional over such things, but for some reason I like being this way. This is actually the first Visual Novel I've played/watched/read before, and I'm amazed by it. Thanks for the recommendation.

no problem, i'm glad i could recommend it to a some people with this thread and that they also like it. 🙂
and dont worry about playing to long once in a while. when i get sucked into a good story it also happens to me.
like reading a very good book in one day or finishing a whole season of a tv series in 12 hours straight^^
as long as it only happens from time to time,
i guess its just normal.
