When we were young, naive, innocent, and more optimistic about the complex world that surrounded us, it was always one question that left a few of us bewildered. It wasn't what's your favorite food, nor who do you have a crush on. Yet, it was what do you want grow up to be. However, as we grew up, the answer we gave change continuously, and many grew up becoming someone/ something else.So mu here comes my questions, and I need your honesty.

What did you want to grow up to be as a kid? Why?
Did you succeed ?
If not, why? (optional)

I never had an answer for this question. Even when I was a kid I had no idea what the hell I wanted to do. Even now I still don't know 🤣
The only thing was I always had a feeling I'd be doing something with art, but even then, I was never up for being a self selling artist. I'm still not up for it now.

Did you exceed ?
Exceed? Do you mean succeed? I am attempting to pursue a career in the art world so I guess in the sense of having a feeling I'd be doing art. Not sure what area of art though yet.

If not, why did you change your mind?
N/A 🤣

A NFL player or Spider-Man. And since there's no way a radioactive spider can exist in the real world, I had to choose NFL player.

Did you exceed ?
Sadly, no.

If not, why did you change your mind? (optional)
I didn't change my mind, it was more of a career-ending injury of sorts. During a pee-wee game when I was 12, I was running with the ball and one kid dove low to tackle me and accidentally hit my ankle with his helmet which shattered it. It never healed properly, and to this day whenever I put pressure on it for just an hour or two, it starts to throb like crazy and I end up limping the next day.

It really sucks, cause if that mishap never happened I'd be a rookie in the NFL right now... 😢

I doubt I had any goals, I always entertained the vague notion I'd be an artist, because that was what a lot of people told me they expected me to be when I grew up. Though I think even when I was younger I thought that wasn't a realistic expectation. I guess since I was a teen and wanted to pull my life together, I wanted a career that I could support myself with, and honestly that isn't being an artist.

Did you succeed, if not why ?
No. Or not really, yeah I've sold paintings and prints, but I have an associates in accounting, soon to have a bachelors. So I'm not good at being a normal artist, I mean, I have 5 year 10 year and 20 year goals, and I am probably too put together. Not insane enough.

When I was 7 I wanted to be an artist. Why? I don't know; because I thought I was good at it? Because my mother praised my artwork? I don't really remember. I do remember, however, before that it was a police woman, and before that it was a "person who builds things". After 7 I never wanted to be anything in particular; I wasn't, and am still not, sure of what I actually like doing, beyond reading/the internet.

Did you succeed ? No. 😛

If not, why? (optional)
Well, after I painted for a little while, my sister started drawing anime. I saw her work, and then looked at my own. She had a real talent for drawing; whereas I was drawing stick figures. When I saw I wasn't very good, I stopped. I mean, it wasn't like I was attached to painting/drawing in particular anyway; I just liked the praise I got for it. When I realized the praise was fake, and I didn't actually excel in art, I lost interest.

Artist, because I liked to draw.

Did you succeed ?
Guess not, since I changed career paths.

If not, why? (optional)
My family told me that artists only make money /after/ they die. ._.

At various times I wanted to be a farmer, a teacher, and a ballerina but by the time I was 10 or so I had no clue anymore; the only consistent thing was wanting to be a mom but that's not really a "career". (Errrr I guess it can be, but you can't independently support yourself just by being a mom, unless you get some creepy reality show or something....)

My mom had been a teacher before I was born & has always been a gardener (close to "farmer", right??), so that's probably where those came from. Ballerina, well, sort of a modern-version of "princess" I think; of course at that age I didn't understand how much work ballet is and how painful pointe shoes can be.

Did you succeed ?
Farmer - I've done some gardening, but nothing as grand as a farm; I sunburn really fast & mosquitoes love me so outdoor work is far from my favorite thing these days
Teacher - I "taught" in a daycare/preschool for a year & that was enough of that (don't get me wrong, I love little kids, but I do much better with 1-3 at a time rather than a whole mob)
Ballerina - got as far as dancing in recitals en pointe, but aside from not having the ballet body or foot type, it's just too much work & hurt too much for me to ever make it a career
Mom - yep - have two birth kids & am adopting a third this summer 😀

And...I still don't know "what I want to be when I grow up" other than RETIRED 🤣 which is not likely to happen until I'm over 80 at this rate 🤢

An animator. Particularly, a PIXAR animator. They made such amazing movies that I wished to be part of it. And that I had a huge interest in the animation industry.

Did you succeed ?

If not, why?

I wanted to be an astronaut or an archaeologist.
Astronauts get to go to space. XD Archaeologists get to make awesome discoveries and whatnot. Plus they get to dig up stuff!

Did you succeed ?
I dono yet. XD I'm still in high school...My best shot is for astronaut though my mom and dad wants me to go into engineering. Not that I'm against it, though...Maybe space engineering?

If not, why? (optional)
Because I didn't go to college yet. XD Not gonna be an archeologist b/c you have to sweat and toil under the hot sun. No thanks!
