The official website of the Dance In The Vampire Bund anime series has announced that a Dance In The Vampire Bund Special Edition compilation episode will air the week after the seventh episode. The episode will splice new sequences into the re-edited footage.

The official website of AT-X channel corroborates the news and adds that episode 8 and future episodes will resume their run in the following week. As a result of the one-week shift, the 12th and final episode will run on at a different timeslot, bumping a repeat episode of the He is my Master anime from its schedule.

Basically, the 8th episode will be a recap with some new footage inserted.

Edit: Actually, it's not the real "8th episode" more like an additional 13th episode.

Because they don't think the series will be popular enough so the anime will only be given 12 episodes. Rally people and get them to change their minds than 😀

From what I understand, this recap episode is just a placeholder as Shaft was behind schedule and didn't have the actual episode 8 finished. So it seems like they needed something to put in its normal time slot and decided on a recap episode.

It doesn't sound like we'll be loosing any episodes however (we're still getting the same number of original episodes as planned), and I think the only reason for the recap is because Shaft didn't have time to finish the episode proper. I'd rather have this then have them airing unfinished episodes (like they reportedly did with Bakemonogatari on the original TV airings and later fixed it up for the DVD/Blu Ray releases).

Oh yay. And we haven't even gotten to the meaty part of the story either.

I know I'm gonna watch it anyway 🤣 I usually skip those episodes, but because I'm actually watching this as it airs, I might as well watch the episode.
It's a shame they're delaying the story from getting to the decent part, but what's done is done.

I think there might be a second season too (if it's popular enough). I can't see them fitting in the mangas story so far plus an ending into 12 episodes, especially if one of them is basically a filler.
