Basically, I would like to know if the footprints mean anything. Like, does it resemble a word or phrase in Japanese?

Nope, it resembles katakana character for "To", but it doesn't have any meaning by itself. There's a kanji using the same character, but considering it's meaning is "divination" or "prophecy", and its usage is very rare, its a no.
