I think I'm gonna die @_@
For the last few days, my computer has been so. Effing. SLOW.
And I have no idea why T.T
None of my anime will download and it takes forever just to load one page. It might be my server or something, but I wouldn't know...
Can anyone help me? 😕 I'm desperate to fix this problem my computer is having...
*desperate enough to post at 4am 😢 *

Or how about spent a little more money and get better Internet service.
Road Runner(Time Warner Cable) is pretty good.
or perhaps Verizon FiOS Internet

If it's just the internet that's slow it's your service provider, if it's your computer you could have ad-ware or a trojan then you can try reformatting. From experience the cable company and the internet provider are separate so have fun tracking down the problem. 😀 😛

I don't know what your set-up is, or what you've already tried, but three things that almost always speed up my computer are scanning for & getting rid of spyware, turning the dsl modem off & back on, and restarting the computer. That's always worked for me except for one time my isp was having problems, but a quick call to them was all it took to know it was on their end.

Thanks for the responses ^_^ They're much appreciated!
I'd call my internet provider, but...I'm trying to be discreet about the problem cuz if I'm not, I might just end up in big trouble. It's not my fault, but I'd probably be blamed anyway since I am the only one transferring things to and from the internet, even though I honestly think it's not my fault ^_^;;
My older brother told me that my computer has one of the fastest internet out there, so I don't think getting something else would help.
Can someone recommend me a good, free program that will scan my computer for viruses and get rid of them? 😕

....get a firewall first. Also, don't go to bad sites. BAD sites. You understand? 😃
I think EZ trust is pretty good. You should also get Windows Defender.
BTW, what Internet service do you use?

Well, I pay for my protection, but PC Magazine suggests AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic or AVG Free Edition

I don't know about first... I've survived my whole computer-using life without one. I find a beefy anti-virus to be plenty. (although it doesn't protect me from those tracking cookies, but really those aren't a big deal).

Norman Virus Control and before that we had Norton (Norman much cheaper).
Well... Actually we of course have the windows firewall, but I've heard it is only better than nothing so I doubt it counts. 🤣

As Nelo_Neko said, if it's just your internet speed what is failing, it's your service provider who's at fault (but that's very unlikely if you ask me). I'd say that you have a serious problem with spyware. It's a great problem nowadays and according to CNET as many as 80 percent of consumers' PCs are infected.
I highly recommend you to use some anti-spyware software as soon as possible. A good up-to-date antivirus is also a must-have (in fact, you shouldn't even think in going online without one).

Uhmm... go download ad aware... it's very effective, and free!
For free virus scans.. um, I think there are some free ones out there that are really good.

goto this page, scroll down to "free and open source software" portion... and click on those links to check those out. you'll find one that's suitable for you. ^_^
Actually, I don't have an antivirus... and I'm looking at them... clamwin looks pretty good in my opinion. ^___^
