So what's your opinion on censoring manga? Any kind of manga, not just the 18+ stuff, but perhaps like Negima (or how they censored that cross in Full Metal Alchemist)

Well, I want what I read to be original. If they don't want stuff, shouldn't publish them in the first place.

Yeah, I don't get why they censor some manga, like H-manga for example. It says you have to be 18+ to buy it, and yet it's got all of those lines and shit on it. Doesn't really make any sense to me...

Other than that, I don't really notice any other kind of manga with censoring (Unless you're talking about when some manga get licensed and sold in America, cause that's when the censoring goes too far at times).

This I agree with. And it's not just manga either where they go too far with their censoring.

Once any work of art is censored it is no longer what the creator created, they put everything in there for a reason and to take any of that away is taking away meaning that the creator wanted their art to convey. So whether it is manga, movies, books, paintings, photos, or what have you censoring is wrong and only shows what some people believe to socially acceptable and no long has the same meaning that the creator intended. As for trying to keep certain things away from children it is the parents responsibility, or whoever their guardian is, to keep things that they do not wish their children to be exposed to away form them it is not the publishers, the government or whoever else's job.

if about hentai , I believe that censor dont for kids, because if censor for kids, then japan should prevent lolicon, shotacon, or ... offend hentai ( rape, other stuff,... )

What are they trying to achieve?

A while back, I was zapping through tv channels,
and came across an episode of Naruto (I think it was one with Zabuza).
Anyways, the blood was grey.
I even double checked (I had watched the episode on the net) to make sure
it wasn't so in the original.

Any censoring, especially if done by licensing companies, in my opinion,
is disrespectful towards the author and is hypocritical.
If you don't agree with the material, don't publish it.

I doubt anyone actually wants to censor 18+ stuff... They're just scared of the law. I think there was 1 case where someone was put on trial for some some 'inappropriate' materials under some very very old law. Then, everyone starts censoring.

As for other stuff. I find it quite insulting. Just putting a tiny bit of censoring over what's clearly going on isn't really helping anyone. I'm not saying they should be showing nipples to children. I'm saying the whole scene shouldn't exist if they're for protecting the kids. The whole setup is just malformed.

yeah i hate censorship, i find it a lot more offensive than the "offensive" stuff they're trying to censor. censoring manga is just stupid, there are tons of books in any public library that illustrate 18+ ideas like violence and sex with texts and/or images. but manga is one of the few things that are being picked on, go figure...

when it comes to anime though... idk my opinion varies a lot. when you check a book out in the library or buy a book, it means you're actively looking for something with that sort of material. but tv's different... any kid could be flipping through the channels only to find something by accident, i know i was traumatized by some of the crap i found as a kid flipping through channels late at night. not only that, but... though i hate to admit it a lot of us were introduced to anime through censorship... if they didn't censor it, anime like naruto, one piece, etc would never play on our kid channels like they do, and we would lose a lot of our fanbase. they probably wouldn't even have passed sailor moon, which was the first anime i watched as a kid. ):
