I hope to see a feature where I can filter out Novels and will not see it in the Releases. I only want to see Manga, we have the filter feature, but it can only filter specific Genre. I suggest that we can also filter the "Types" of releases.

Thank you.

Heh......yeah, I've looked at the existing options a couple of times now to see if I could stop seeing the novels in the releases, the first time was hoping it was there, the second time was hoping I'd maybe missed it the first time I looked 😀

Yeah, it'd be nice, for me at least, to not even see them, but I doubt it's feasible. The current system filters by series and by already existing genre tags........which, yeah, "novel" isn't a genre at all at the present.

So yeah, I'd just as soon not see them at all........I'm a manga and anime fan, I have no idea why anyone is interested in these novel-form pieces in the first place, I can get freaking novels, professionally written and produced ones, all day long at my local public library........but it's not really a big deal either.

Good luck with your suggestion 🙂

Yes but it’s a pity that you have to go to the forum to know how to filter them out.
This has been the subject of many threads now. There should be another way than modifying manually the url since obviously a lot of users want that option

For the record, this option to filter out novels from Releases page was added more than a year ago, see:
https://www.mangaupdates.com/showtopic.php?tid=49926&page=1#post665412

And it also works for other types of content, for example:
https://www.mangaupdates.com/releases.html?exclude_type=Manga

Although, personally, I don't see why some people are bothered by releases they are not interested in. When something is in one of your lists, it will have an icon next to it and this makes its releases easy to notice. So you can just check the Releases page for thing you are interested in, i.e. things in your lists, and ignore everything else.

I found another way to filter it out, you can choose what types (novel, manga, mahwa...) you want to hide in your CP under Profile editing.

Well that is pretty awkward, I think you are mixing up the purpose between new release and reading list (or any other list). 😕

If you only want to check for things in your reading list ... then view your reading list! 😐

I want to view the release list to see something new. If "the something new" I want to see are just manga then wanting to filter out novels is completely understandable. In addition to specific genres of course. 😃
