New Poll - Apocalypse

I went for rapture/ hell on earth. In times of need, at least people can look forward to the afterlife as being a blissful nothingness or something "better". Suffering while knowing that suffering may as well last an eternity is just depressing to think about.
Overpopulation/ loss of resources is scary, but at least it's an issue groups today are tackling and preparing for (they definitely beat it into the mind of us agricultural majors).
A lot of the others I don't really expect to survive. Mass infertility would definitely suck if you were one of the last fertile females though, ugh.

Depending of what you want to define as humanity, I would say that zombies because they would if posible consume all humans even if they will end without food but vampires would know to keep enought people. In both case considering that they depend on humans for their diet.

Actually super volcano is probably closer to ice age, the particles on the smoke will reach the stratosphere and block sun light decreasing the temperature and it would give the posibility to start a vicious circle.

Overpopulation or viral, which go hand in hand. Living in close quarters it's easy to transmit disease. Mostly because I am so anti-social I'd rather deal with dieing a horrible death by monsters or weather than deal with more people.

What a strange poll this time.
I voted for mass infertility because most of the others are either similar (Zombie, Vampires, Dragons and 'Rapture or hell on earth' are all separate options? Seriously? Were you intentionally trying to overload the poll?) or are just plain idiotic. (Ape uprising? Global flood? Haha.)
That said, the poll is missing an obvious option: DINOSAURS!

Doesn't really matter. In any sane apocalyptic scenario, any of us here will be dead in a few days at most. Do you care what you die of all that much?
As for the few people who may survive, they currently don't waste their time reading manga on the internet.

I'm glad you included mass infertility 😀
Children of Men is a GREAT underrated movie by Alfonso Cuaron
I vote for viral pandemic since Contagion is the movie that made me rush to the bathrooms in the theater and wash my hands afterwards even though I'm far from a germaphobe, lol
;D

Great poll!
Thought that Overpopulation and/or loss of resources would be the worse cause when things start falling apart and there not that much food, people get nasty.

Unlike e.g. a nuclear holocaust where people will be all smiles and cheer.

I went with Rapture or hell on earth (to be the worst one) cause if that truly happens then for one, its a combination of at least 4 of the other categories; Earth on fire, Disease or viral pandemic, natural disasters , Monsters and probably other crazy shit. Plus it might not be zombies, vampires or dragons but youll probably have to deal with a shit ton of demons attacking you. That of course will lead to loss of natural resources and other events.Plus finally the thing that would make rapture/hell on earth the worst is that for the other categories, at the very least you can die and relieve your suffering; whether its your choice or not. However if its hell on earth then you cant die and its eternal suffering.
So yea man honestly i wouldnt want to deal with any of these situations ever and a lot of them will probably kill a ton of people off the bat; but the only one that can potentially keep me in that suffering forever is that one.
Also on a side note: mass infertility would probably help the world more than cause an apocalypse. i mean its "mass" infertility but not "total" infertility. so still a number of peope will be able to.

I went with Simultaneous global natural disasters because that one can include a lot of stuff like: 1 Ice age, 2 Earth on fire, 3 Super volcano, and 4 Global flood then there is some debate for me about including a Ape uprising and the Asteroid /meteor catastrophe because these also could be classified as a natural disaster ;p
This option would suck a lot because I have no knowledge to gather food or any intention or skills to hunt for food and fishing is not my idea of fun relaxation. As for the second worst option it would definitely be Technology starts failing or global EMP surviving without a mobile phone is possible for me but having no internet 🙁 get me really irritated. I can totally survive having no cars but that is because I'm from the Netherlands where there are more bicycles than people 🙂

You want a real scary apocalypse? read the "Crossed" comic series (Warning: not for the feint of heart, this series can traumatize you)
Started reading it a few hours ago. After 17 episodes I have to say it isn't the most scary one I've seen. Mostly because they don't make the main characters possible to relate to for me so it happens to somebody else.
Though I do want to listen to Lenon's Imagine afterwards since it is quite gory.
It's kinda hard to choose one cuz all/most of them are pretty bad when imagined. I think it would be better to ask "Which apocalyptic world would you choose to live in?" Then we can start ticking off the ones we would avoid at all costs, leaving behind a few acceptable ones. Global EMP is truly terrifying, viral pandemic sounds nasty as well. You see, vampires and zombies are quite tame. If movies have taught me anything, it's that we humans have what it takes to kick undead butts.
And, wouldn't the giant scenario of SnK too be a suitable option here? The manga portrays a really bad situation for the people.

It could've been possible to choose which apocalypse to live in, but then I feel like that would probably narrow down the choices to very few options as you brought up. That's kind of boring compared to choosing between all the crazy options we have listed here, as it goes to show how many we've been able to imagine/look back on over the years.
