This week's poll was suggested by jacob66. Imagine you had the power to stop time whenever you wanted, and of course you could still do things while time was stopped. What would you do first with your powers?

You can submit poll ideas here
http://www.mangaupdates.com/showtopic.php?tid=3903

Previous Poll Results:
Question: Non-Japanese Live-Action adaptations on average
Choices:
Finally got good - votes: 67 (3%)
Are almost respectable - votes: 128 (5.8%)
Are very slowly improving - votes: 546 (24.7%)
Still suck - votes: 1468 (66.5%)
There were 2209 total votes.
The poll ended: May 8th, 2022 12:00am PDT

Long way to go

First is to confirm what happened to things and people that I touched mmm...
And confirm whether law of physics like gravity still work, then again how do I even breath mmm...

After that probably do something stupid like touching a girl's boobs, is it still soft when the time stop mmm...~?

I went with greedy but that makes no sense in hindsight. You have to run tests first so something mundane is the wisest choice for the first dozen times.

Go to nearest book store and start reading manga on shelves? (I would assume electronics doesn't work) so mundane and useless

I'd probably sleep. I mean stopping time, sleeping as much as you want and then not actually losing any time whatsoever but feeling refreshed and rested with the whole day avaliable to you?

Something mundane or useless? Something greedy? I'm thorn between the two. I think most likely something mundane and useless.

Remember when Nobita decided to "delay tommorrow" using Doraemon's machine? Honestly, I might do the same as him, just so I can prolong my weekend a little bit more.

And I know this sounds really bad, but since this poll is only for fun.. I might also be attempted to eat/shop for free, since I can stop time. The rest depends on my conscience whether I would really do it or not. Lol.

However, stopping time usually comes with consequences and/or terms and condition.. Like taking your own time/life, or only a few minutes/hours in a day. So, these answers above only applied if there are no consequences and/or any terms and condition.. 😅

My first thought was philanthropic, but then I changed it to something to improve myself. Like if you're in an airplane and there is an emergency, you are instructed to put on your mask first before helping others. Then reading the replies, the smartest course is mundane to test the limits and ramifications of the power. So I'd do that.

Something funny probably.

Realistically though, I would do nothing, I feel like stopping time would have really bad adverse effect.

When you get a new power then you should first probably perform lots of tests in order to grasp it's full abilities and limitations, or at least as much as you can as time stop powers don't make much sense in the first place.

My desire to eat as much as I can stronger than self-improvement. So I'm going to choose mundane/useless 🤣

Does sleep fall into self improvement or mundane/useless? Cause sleeping would be my first agenda and it would definitely improve my mood.

Keywords being "do first," probably something mundane. Like, I'd probably take a nap after a morning meeting. After that, who knows. Would definitely be tempted to do something greedy, but like, small-scale greedy like shoplifting from a Whole Foods. If it's something I can activate at will, I would absolutely use it for petty revenge. Small scale philanthropy too. Something erotic... hypothetically if you're doing something erotic to someone else when time is frozen, that's probably considered sexual assault. I guess if you're an exhibitionist or something and you go out naked it's fine, but where's the fun in that. Time stop shenanigans are only really funny the first time you do them, so maybe if it's the first and only time I get to time stop

Like residentgrigo wisely said probably do some mundane things to test it out first. After that it would depend how it worked. If you can stop time and don't age also (in some situations you might stop time for everyone else but you are still living and aging) then I'd definitely go self improvement route. Having the extra time to study and learn things like a language or just get in really good shape would be cool. Erotic or vengeful? Ewww... Greedy? Maybe if I'm desperate. Funny? Sure and it might be something that could happen first. Benevolent? That might be very situational as in if you see something in the moment that you can act on, which might not be the first thing you can do. Also bigger beneficial/philanthropic issues might not be easily accomplished by one person working alone even if you can stop time.

Something for self improvement. And more so in the next months

I'd probably read/do stuff until I can't take being alone any more (you don't really know if it's a one time thing). Then a month after +-, when I'm bored of it I'd just see how to stop it (If I havent figured out yet). After all that I'd use it sparsely for mundane stuff having like having an extra day whenever I want, checking if I can slow it down turning it on/off... 😁

I mean, every day there is tons of stuff you can do with people and alone so. If it's unlimited and I dont age I'd progressively increase the time I stop it and probably go crazy doing all that stuff I want or whatever.

greedy, well first I figure out the limits, how long can I stay time freeze for, and then I find drug dealers and just steal all the money and just go up the chain from there.

I could also go into a store and steal everything I want, but realistically so many things have tracking and firmware tracking that its a non option for much of what I want.

if time stops for me while im time stopped, as in I don't age, then I may just stop time to do a wide range of things and just get good at stuff in general.

there are other things I would consider doing, but money and time on my side REALLY make those unnecessary.
