in my humble opinion there is almost none. To me its like more affection/some sort of respect. Maybe Asuna, maybe. But its just my point of view, in this aspect, at least to me, this manga has always been shady.

There is some romance. Negi has developed quite the harem over the past 283 chapters. There isn't much dating going on, but there are various relationships building throughout the story.

There is little romance but quite a bit of "shipping". Most of the "harem" thing is played for laughs, so I wouldn't call it "romance". The only exception thus far would be Nodoka who actually had a date with Negi, and shared a romantic kiss with him. There's also Asuna's crush, but that got resolved quickly.

P.S. With a 10-year old main character, what kind of romance do you expect? 😕 This is not CLAMP! 🤣

There are a few crushes. Nodoka, Yue, Asuna's though it didn't last long...

There was also Ako, but that one was a little confusing.

You might be able to count Konoka/Setsuna as subtext, depending on the power of your yuri goggles.
