i think proverbs are quite interesting

they are like a summary of a life divided in topics
and like certain good ones strikes you and make you feel anew

anyone care to share their opinions?

My parents lecture me on Chinese proverbs so I don't know whether that counts as reading them! ^^ Apart from the lecturing, if I hear proverbs on their own, they're very interesting! This friend of mine claims I use too many proverbs when I text to him! I dunno, maybe I subconsciously use them in my life?

What does proverbs mean to me? They make you more grounded to life and to appreciate the simple values, I think. It's also a good motivational boost as well as something to snap you back to reality. If you think about it, you could compare proverbs to morals in Aesop's fables, or something.

It is very rare to find one I don't dislike - usually when the story is good regardless of the 'lesson/deeper meaning'.
