Seriously? Naruto can go sage mode at will but he still can't do a proper 1-handed rasengan?

Forget that, I was amazed for a different reason.. did.. did Naruto THINK? Dear Lord. After all these chapters, never thought I would see the day. He still had to use the Rasengan, but he actually just used it as a fist of sorts. Amazing, I can't expect any other highlights from this series, this was clearly the climax. It can only go downhill from here. O.o

... Naruto thinking... what is the world coming to?

Everyone, including y'all, seem to have forgotten that Naruto is the #1 hyper-active, knuckle-headed, maverick ninja! You can't predict the things he'll do, even the occassional plan/strategy will appear sometime.
P.S. I'm from the West, so I can use words like y'all.

Isnt it obvious that a warrior that has fought with many strong warriors will gain experience and use his head. Even in the Pain fight he used a stragety to win at the end. He isnt book smart, but he does have a lot of battle experience and knows when to be resourceful.

Also, Naruto obviously has stopped trying to do the rasengan without a shadow clone.

OK, so the only thing which could defeat the Raikage was the Raikage himself. I like that; it was clever. And, for once, clever on Naruto's part.

Naruto thinking shocked me too. In a good way. They are ninjas, using strategy and deceit is what ninjas do. There should be more strategy in this series and a little less "my chakra is bigger than yours" pissing contests.

Speaking of pissing contests, we got a little more "private time" with Killer Bee in this chapter than I, personally, ever wanted. Thanks for that, Kishimoto.

It seems that Naruto's intelligence has increased. 😀

Thus another notch on the belt. Defeat the guy that blew your village and its ninjas apart, overcome the kyuubi, defeat the ninja known as the toughest ever and he did this all in front of other strong ninjas who couldn't even wipe their bums. Simple power (rasengan, kagebunshin), power-ups(sage,fox), experience leading to strategy and you got a hokage on the rise.

I still don't get how Raikage survived rasenshuriken without a scratch. In the end it proved that his lightning armour could be pierced with a concentrated attack. So how did rasenshuriken, which not only has an elemental advantage (wind being stronger than lightning) but is supposed to be the top of shape manipulation, prove to be completely ineffective?

It doesn't have the piercing/penetration power as the raikage's finger thrust attack, the raikage's attack is all concentrated into one small point whilst Naruto's Rasenshuriken isn't.

He never really tried to learn how to do it one-handed, seeing how he thought of another way that's just as good.

But man, kudos to Naruto figuring that out. Like brid said, it was really clever the way Kishimoto had all of that fall into place.

I also think so.

Glad to see sage mode back... Kyuubi mode is strong but I dont like its design... anyway Naruto ended this fight in a very smart manner ... I didint think of that one. Next is another Gaara fight.. hope it does not end as fast as the fight against his dad
