This poll was submitted by BaeSooky. I only chose it because I don't really like the other ones that were suggested...But I don't really like this one either >_>
Well, surprise me
Certain authors are known for the genre/demographic that they work in. ADACHI Mitsuru for sports. AKAMATSU Ken for shounen harem. You get the point. Lots of other authors only write for say yaoi, shoujo, etc. Well, would you perhaps like them to branch out and try the other stuff?

No surprises there.
I still went for Digimon.
Hrodulf and Bjornolfr, you will not be forgotten.

If I had a fantasy self, it'd be a tentacle monster.

I have to thank you again. It's been a while since I've had this much d**k on my computer. :'3
Anyway...>.<
Second option. Some mangakas do it well, some don't. Some try to go from shoujo to shounen, but fail when they try to make it as shoujo-y as possible (or vice-versa). I wouldn't mind so much if they are at least faithful to the genre/demographic. (i.e., I wouldn't want to see a shoujo cliche in a shounen, or vice-versa).
Of course Pokemon won. :3~

Had to shorten the lengths because there's only so much space in there. I use my own discretion

I support mangaka trying new genres. Some do well, others don't, but I don't have to read any of the bad ones. Some of my favourite manga have come from mangaka trying new genres.

Definite yes on different genres, but often demographics are harder to cross over. Still, why not? If they do a good job, great. If not, don't read it and hope they switch back.

Same here. It upsets me how some people labeled it with the stigma of 'pokemon knockoff' just because of the -mon in the name, but it's actually quite different (main focus is to save the world, not to catch them all, for instance). If more people gave it a chance and didn't just group it together with Pokemon, it'd definitely have more fans.

I like Digimon better than Pokemon. For one, there is a plotline in Digimon, saving the world and experience life and death situations. For pokemon it is about Ash being the main character all the freakin time and going around being all kind and all and catching pokemons. Ash doesnt experience the things the characters in Digimon must face. He is just "i love pokemon, i wanna be the best, i wanna catch them all, im a goody too shoes with no bad merits since i am so nice" YUCK. And the fact that there are so many seasons yet the characters remain unchanged shows that instead of having a plotline they decide to stick to forever unchange, Sad.
About the new poll, i like some mangaka getting out of their comfort zone and creating new art for us. Take Yuu Watase as eg: she is the creator of Ayashi no ceres and Fushigi Yuugi, 2 shoujo with tragedy and drama and romance. She has now gone out of her zone and create as YAOI with tragedy and drama and romance (though it wouldnt hurt to have her work on something more less drama and more realistic). neverless a yaoi good story

Authors cross over from hentai/yaoi all the time. Akamatsu Ken, Azuma Kiyohiko, etc etc. What I'd really like to see is a tough-guy shonen author writing shojo. Like Hara Tetsuo drawing something for Ribbon.
