Regular Book is way more prominent that I expected on this comic website.

Comics, I suppose. Of course I watch movies and series, and I also love to read literature from time to time, but with the little time I have to do my hobby, reading comics is the best.

Books! The only thing that I still buy physical copies of is books, if I like them enough.

For me, I think animated movies have the most potential to be the best medium for storytelling, but they're also just so underutilized.

If I think about some of the best animated films I've seen (Memories, Mind Game, Perfect Blue, Angel's Egg, The Thief and the Cobbler, Felidae, A Cat in Paris, Isle of Dogs) The kind that weren't necessarily made for children first and foremost (or at all)... I come away with the sense that animation is the best medium for telling stories, especially on a film-sized budget where the artists are able to put so much detail into their craft.

However, so many animated films are simply made for children, and have a focus on comedy/silly stuff, or musical numbers... and these can be fine and they certainly have their place. However, I just wish there were more animated films that focused on serious subject matter like there are with live-action films...

Because when it's done right, I certainly prefer animation over live-action. If, for nothing else, simply because of the ability for a creator's concept to visually be brought to life exactly how they envisioned it (which is something you can't typically do in live-action).

I definitely prefer animation to live action. I’m watching Puella Magi Madoka Magica right now and it’s a mindblowing example of animation’s ability to showcase the wildly creative and surreal. Then you can also have something like The Tale of the Princess Kaguya with very simple but heavily stylized art. There’s no doubt a lot of thought that goes into live action and the various shots et cetera, but I would never view it as having all the potential of animation, nor think of it as art in the same way that I think of exceptionally animated films or shows as art.

Either games or books... but since it's been a while since I got my hands on a really good book, I went with games for this poll.

I chose books because that is what I consume the most. That or animation. I don't know that is is my favorite though. I love theater and ballet but I can't afford them.

Visual Novels - so I think games (though there are peeps that say VNs are just enhanced books)

Books books books. I love books! My shelves are overflowing but I always get more and borrow other people's books too. I like non-fiction and classics the most. Now that the Kosuke Kindaichi series is being translated into English I've been gradually buying those as they come out. Would recommend!

It was a difficult choice, between comics, books and video games. I went with the one I currently find most tells me stories, which is comics, but I've read thousands of stories in novel format and video games, when done right, have the most powerful effect of any medium.

Edit: By the way, I agree with those additions and separations. I definitely didn't think of how differently television and movies were seen and completely forgot about video games... major brain fart.

I'm a jack of all trades but master of none. Too many jars and not enough hands.
