I'm reading skip beat and I love the story but I just feel like I would enjoy the story if the art style wasn't so awkward. In skip beat their faces are so slender and long it's hard to get past that fact, but it is well drawn. It's like that for ever manga that I read that doesn't have favorable art, sometimes I just skip over a manga because of the art, and later on I find out that it's a great story (Eden no ori, 7 seeds and such). How about you guys, does the art effect your enjoyment? If you have a possible solution to this please suggest it to me.

If I think the art is bad, I don't read it. No matter the plot. Sometimes the art style grows on me and each time I read a manga with a more unusual art style I get more tolerant, kind of. The thing that absolutely make me despise a manga is if the body parts have different/bad proportions or if the body is in a weird angle. I hate that! I actually like the Skip beat art a lot, the way the mangaka draws is kind of glamorous. She definitely try to make the more favorable parts of the body stand out. All of this is just my personal opinion of course. Aww...I write so seriously. :I

I seriously can't read manga that is not consistent in art and style and with 'effort'.
I can't stand disproportions. Like Shinjo Mayu's work. I seriously cannot read it because of the art. The story could be utter crap but if it's drawn really well, I'll give it a chance. The story could be the best in the world but I can't even imagine getting past the first page if the art is 'awkward'. :/

I suggest just reading the synopsis of chapters if the art is unbearable lol.
