This year's 10th volume of Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine is announcing on Wednesday that production on a new live-action Detective Conan special has been green-lit. The special is part of the 15th anniversary celebration of the television anime series. More details will be in the next volume of the magazine on February 9.

The first live-action Detective Conan television special with Shun Oguri in the title role aired in 2006 as part of the anime's 10th anniversary. A second special aired the following year.
